I saw your article online and it’s nice to know that there are more of “us” out there than I thought. Some of the stuff is so funny and so easy to relate to–especially about getting together for gatherings. During my first trip to Maui with my in-laws, I sat on the living room floor watching TV. My mother-in-law came over and softly asked me, “May I get you a chair?”. I said, “No thanks and thought it was [...] My hubby had to learn that rice can be eaten at every meal. And it is absolutely horrifying to my family to lather butter and/or sugar on it….the appropriate way to eat rice is to sprinkle a little shoyu or furikake on top! ~ Carolyn inter racial relationships – A visiting haole friend of mine did this not once, not twice, but three times in a row. |
