Hi,
I saw the article in the Honolulu Advertiser newspaper & I’d like to share some of my haole stories….
1. My haole hubby & I visitied my family in the Phils. & my sister made some leche flan. My husband made a comment that we probably saved lots of sardine cans to use as molds.
2. My family one time made Dinuguan & everyone ie my aunties, uncles, cousins, etc were trying to convince him to try it (which he did) & when he found out what it was, he didn’t want to have a second serving.
3. When we were newlyweds, he always wondered where’s the knife in my table setting? I only include spoon & fork.
4. He’s Italian & I’m Filipino. We both come from big families & food is always the center of most gatherings.
5. I cried one time when I just finished making dinner (Sinigang na
Baboy) Pork stew with tamarind & he just got home from work & made a comment, “Honey, what’s that awful smell?”
That’s all for now,
Oochie
